Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with Science endorsement (DA, DX, or DI) and Agri-science & Natural Resources endorsement (HX) or an Annual Career Authorization.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Prior successful teaching experience in a Jr.-Sr. High School preferred but not required.
• Experience with FFA and/or 4H preferred but not required.
• Clear criminal history check, physical, and drug test required; first aid training preferred.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications, as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Instruct assigned classes using district-approved curriculum and meet objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Use varied assessments to track academic and social growth and report progress to students and parents.
• Follow district policies and school improvement plans; uphold ethics and professionalism.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom and foster a positive learning environment.
• Discipline students per policy with consistent, fair consequences and respect for diversity.
• Be available to students/parents outside instructional hours and perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
