Job summary

Durand High School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Academic Intervention Paraprofessional for a full-time position to support students needing additional academic help. You will collaborate with teachers and parents to foster a positive learning environment and reinforce lessons.

You will monitor student progress, assist with IEPs and interventions, and help prepare instructional materials while maintaining confidentiality and protecting student privacy.

Qualifications

• Requires a High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is preferred.
• Experience working with high school students in educational or support roles is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to implement IEP strategies and interventions with fidelity.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing IEPs and intervention strategies for students.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to reinforce lessons and assignments.
• Monitor student progress and communicate outcomes to teachers.
• Promote a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support development and implementation of academic and behavioral interventions.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
• Attend meetings with teachers, parents, and staff to discuss progress.
• Maintain confidential records of student progress and interventions.
