Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a patient care partner for the High Risk Cardiology unit. You will support licensed nurses by providing direct patient care, taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, and promoting a safe, healing environment.

This role is 24 hours per week, daytime shifts 7a-7p with rotating holidays and every third weekend. Preferred experience includes CNA, PCT, EMT, or Surgical Tech.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA or PCT experience preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under supervision of the nurse.
• Promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Administers or assists with ADLs, takes vital signs, I&O, falls and pressure ulcer prevention, catheter care, phlebotomy, or point-of-care testing as requested.
• Collects clinical data and reports changes to the nurse.
• Assists with patient and family education and acts as a 1:1 safety sitter when necessary.
