Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator to move raw materials, finished products and equipment around the facility, using a forklift and other equipment as needed. Work is conducted on the warehouse floor under general supervision.

Responsibilities include stocking, selecting orders, loading/unloading trucks, cycle counts, and completing paperwork per work instructions while supporting health, safety, ISO and 6S initiatives. Training others may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years warehousing experience, preferably in metals industry.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. for 100 ft.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Must have forklift certification.
• Work on a warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Job Summary

Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. May perform other general warehouse functions in support of operational requirements. Performs work under general supervision and handles moderately complex issues and problems.

Key Accountabilities

• Accurately remove and stock product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan
• Accurately select product to fill customer orders and package them properly
• Load and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded
• Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw
• Cycle Counts
• Identify, hold and segregate defective material
• Complete paperwork per work instructions, when required
• Perform general clean up
• Inspect forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel
• Participate, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements
• Assist in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead
• Train others when required
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED
• 2 to 4 years of warehousing experience - especially in Metals industry
• History of consistent dependable attendance
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math skills
• Previous forklift certification
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
• Safety Mindset

Preferred Requirements

• Use of handheld measuring tools preferred
• Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft Office programs preferred
• LEAN and/or Quality Control experience preferred

Job Compensation

Schedule: Mon- Thursday 6AM to 6PM

Hourly Rate: 19.00-21.00
