Job summary

Quanex in Statesville, NC is seeking a High-Reach Forklift Operator for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 10:00 pm–6:30 am).

You will receive and ship materials, move items within the warehouse, and operate high-reach forklifts ensuring accuracy and safety. Prior forklift certification and warehouse experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience.
• High‑reach forklift certification and experience required.
• Experience with WMS systems is preferred.
• Experience using barcode scanners and recording system postings.

Responsibilities

• Read production/shipping orders to determine items to move or distribute.
• Transport materials from receiving/production to storage or other areas.
• Sort and place items on racks or pallets by size, type, or code.
• Fill requests and distribute stock to production areas as needed.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place on pallets.
• Weigh or count items to ensure conformance with standards.

The High-Reach Forklift Operator is responsible for receiving, storing, picking and distributing material and products within establishment.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00 pm – 6:30 am

Hourly Rate is $19.75 to $22.50 + $1.50/hour for shift premium for 3rd shift.

What Success Looks Like:

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Transports materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distributes items to production areas.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
• Certified to drive material handling equipment.(High Reach forklift expertise a must)
• Transports stored items within the warehouse.

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED and/or production experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse role
• High reach forklift experience is required
• Previous experience with WMS system is desired
• Experience with barcode reading guns and system postings/system records
• Experience in extrusion or process manufacturing is a plus
• High School or GED.
