Job summary

Quanex in Bowling Green, Kentucky is seeking a Large Capacity Forklift Driver for the day shift to operate a 15,000 lb+ forklift and move materials to and from kilns, work areas, and machines.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years forklift experience in production/manufacturing

• Able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to pass OSHA testing

• Attend work on time and for scheduled hours
• Follow operating procedures and notify supervisor of improvements
• Deliver materials to appropriate work centers or storage areas

Job description

Quanex is looking for a Large Capacity Forklift Driver - Day shift to join our team located in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

In this role, you are responsible for operating a large capacity industrial forklift to transport materials to and from Kilns, work areas, and machines in a safe and efficient manner to meet production requirements and you will also be responsible for performing other assigned production functions such as loading, unloading, stacking blanks of wood.

What’s attractive about the Forklift Operator position?

• Pay range is $18.00 - $20.50 per hour based on your applicable large capacity forklift experience
• Work Schedule: Tuesday-Friday: 6:00a - 4:30p & Overtime on Monday if needed
• Saturday and Sunday Off!

What Success Looks Like

• Follows all safety procedures, rules, and guidelines and identifies any existing or potential safety issues.
• Attends work on time and for the scheduled hours each day.
• Follows operating procedures and notifies supervisor of potential procedural improvements.
• Delivers materials to appropriate work centers or storage areas before they run out.
• Stages materials in a logical, safe fashion.
• Conducts required preventative maintenance/inspection on forklifts.

What You Bring

• 1-2 years of experience operating 15,000 lb.+ capacity forklifts with 6 months experience working in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
• Ability to perform repetitive work requiring high levels of concentration
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Ability to pass OSHA required testing
