Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate loans in an assigned non-bank territory. You will take applications, conduct preliminary underwriting, and submit for processing and underwriting approval, with a strong emphasis on sales activity away from branches.

You will need at least two years of mortgage, sales, or real estate experience, a high school diploma, and an active NMLS registration. Occasional travel and market development are required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• NMLS registration under SAFE Act of 2008 and Regulation Z, plus ongoing regulatory compliance.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Two or more years of Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to analyze financial information.
• Sales oriented, self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Established referral base within assigned market preferred.

Responsibilities

• Originates mortgage loans in an assigned Non-Bank territory.
• Takes applications, conducts preliminary underwriting reviews, submits to processing and underwriting for approval.
• Ensures documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner.
• Spends at least 50% of time conducting sales activities away from U.S. Bank locations.
