Job summary

PJ Whelihan’s Pub + Restaurant in Lancaster, PA is hiring servers to provide a welcoming guest experience in a high‑volume setting with a lively sports package and strong team support. You’ll greet guests, take orders, inform about specials, and deliver food and beverages using a POS.

Candidates should demonstrate friendly presence, calmness under pressure, and reliable weekend availability; TIPS/RAMP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures.
• Must be TIPS or RAMP certified before first non-training shift.
• Possess basic math skills, handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Be able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 20–25 pounds.
• Ideally looking for weekend availability (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests. Make all guests feel comfortable and attended to.
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
• Make recommendations you genuinely feel guests will enjoy.
• Answer questions about food, beverages and restaurant services.
• Take food and beverage orders and enter into POS promptly.
• Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.
• Maintain clean service areas and assist with clearing tables.
