Job summary

VASA Fitness is opening a brand-new Waterloo club and is seeking a high-energy Group Fitness Instructor (GFI). The role pays $21.00-$28.00 per hour DOE, with paid prep time beyond 60 minutes per class. Training begins in September as part of building the team and shaping club culture.

Instructors will motivate, uplift, and energize participants, deliver safe and scalable workouts, and uphold a culture of unity, passion, and integrity within a thriving community.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of experience in personal training, small group training or group fitness training.
• NCCA-accredited Personal Training or Group Fitness Certification.
• General knowledge of kinesiology, exercise science, physical fitness.
• Current CPR/AED Certification.
• Must hold current certification for applicable format.
• Yoga Certification (200 or 500 Hour RYT).
• Cycle Certifications (Schwinn, Spinning, Beatboss, AFAA Indoor Cycling).
• Promotes an upbeat, energetic environment.
• Experience in leading, communicating, coaching, teaching or performing in front of a group.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional fitness experiences to Studio members by exemplifying UPLIFT core values.
• Ensure Vasa Uplift Member Experience (VUME) is executed in every class.
• Be punctual and prepared; greet members at the door on time.
• Safely demonstrate exercises and monitor class performance.
• Complete post-class procedures: clean, sanitize, organize.
• Be approachable and provide excellent customer service.
• Teach clear, safe classes with options for all fitness levels.
• Create an energetic class environment that is inclusive and supportive.
