Job summary

Roadrunner is seeking a Freight Handler at the Memphis service center to keep freight moving safely, accurately, and on time in a fast-paced dock environment. You will load, unload, tag, and secure shipments, operate forklifts and other equipment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain dock flow while complying with safety rules.

Compensation starts at $17.00–$18.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package, and a focus on accuracy, safety, and teamwork in Nashville–Memphis

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months of related experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Forklift driver qualification required.
• Hazardous Material Training preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Experience in freight, logistics, warehouse, or LTL environments is a plus.
• Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain composure in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, stack, and secure freight with accuracy to prevent damage.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, and other equipment safely.
• Transport freight between dock areas, trailers, and storage zones.
• Communicate with operations leadership and dock supervisors clearly and urgently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization to support continuous dock flow.
