Job summary

Regions Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage loans through a branch network. You will complete applications, evaluate loan requests, and communicate progress with customers while building relationships and expanding business with referral partners.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, one year of mortgage lending experience, and preferably a Bachelor's degree. This is a commission-based role with potential for substantial earnings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of mortgage lending experience with proven mortgage production.
• Abundant mortgage experience with developing external business via referral partners (realtors, builders, financial planners).
• Prior Mortgage Loan Officer experience preferred.
• Current mortgage origination experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Completes mortgage applications for submission to loan processing and underwriting.
• Evaluates loan requests, analyzes financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and credit history.
• Maintains contact with loan customers and provides progress updates.
• Structures loans to comply with lending practices and regulations.
• Builds a detailed marketing plan including target clients and frequency of contact.
• Responds to customer calls and walk-ins about loan products and qualification information.
• Makes sales calls to develop new business or retain existing business.
• Cross-sells other bank products and services.
• Reviews surveys and appraisals and ensures compliance.
