Job summary

Alaska West Express seeks an experienced Line Haul / Anchorage Local Driver to operate tractor-trailer units across the U.S. and Alaska. The role requires adhering to company procedures and federal regulations while transporting liquids, bulk chemicals, and petroleum products to designated Alaskan routes.

The position emphasizes safety, accurate documentation, and timely, secure deliveries in varied conditions. Applicants must be 21+, hold HazMat/Tanker endorsements, and a valid DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five years OTR experience preferred.
• Alaska drivers north of Fairbanks - minimum two years Haul Road experience.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer to destinations per procedures and regulations.
• Secure shipments with restraints and inspect equipment for safety.
• Maintain shipping documents (BOLs, manifests, hazmat placards) and logs.
• Communicate with dispatcher via telephone/radio and keep records current.
• Install/remove tire chains as required; operate under safe loading/unloading conditions.
• Comply with all safety policies and pass pre-employment checks.
