Job summary

Bulger Veterinary Hospital in Lawrence, MA, is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian. ProSal starts at $160,000+ base with production earning potential over $200,000. Schedule includes rotating shifts, up to 14 per month with about 35 hours weekly, in a 24/7 practice offering emergency and specialty services.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state licensure.
• Internship-trained and/or at least 2 years of clinical emergency medicine experience.
• Soft tissue emergency surgeries a plus; additional surgical training available.
• Demonstrated confidence in managing emergencies and making sound clinical decisions.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
• Have the opportunity to cut a variety of soft-tissue emergency surgical procedures.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
