Job summary

Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center’s High Intensity Care Unit (HICU) in Baltimore seeks an RN to deliver safe, high-quality care to patients with complex medical and respiratory needs. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and support a patient-centered care plan.

The role emphasizes critical assessment, documentation, patient education, and ongoing development through the Nursing Career Ladder and professional programs.

Qualifications

• Current Maryland RN license.
• Associate degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• AHA CPR/BLS certification required.
• Less than one year of nursing experience; new graduates may be considered.
• Knowledge of nursing process and Maryland Nurse Practice Act.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to safely operate medical equipment.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with Cerner, Synquest Standard, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard office equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document comprehensive initial and ongoing nursing assessments.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Provide direct nursing care to patients with complex medical and respiratory needs.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes in clinical status.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, nursing staff, and rehabilitation professionals.
• Educate patients and families about plan of care and ongoing needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Apply nursing processes per Maryland Nurse Practice Act.
• Support a safe, compassionate, patient-centered environment.
