Job summary

Flanigan’s is seeking friendly, energetic servers who excel in guest relations and multitasking. You will take orders, enter them into the POS, and deliver meals promptly while maintaining table appearance and cleanliness.

This role emphasizes accurate order taking, payments, and effective communication with guests and team members. Ideal candidates will be able to stand all shift, handle up to 50 lbs, and hold Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Must pass Florida Responsible Vendor program per state statute
• Must complete Florida food safety certification program
• Ability to stand for 100% of shift and lift up to 50 lbs
• Excellent English reading/writing and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus, current promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drinks orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests promptly
• Assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Process guest payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards), ensure transactions are correct using POS, deliver correct change
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
