Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services, LLC is seeking a motivated CDL Hi-Rail Technician to support vegetation management along railroad corridors. This full-time seasonal position offers travel, hands-on maintenance, and opportunities to grow within a safety-driven team.

You will spray herbicides, assist with equipment maintenance, and document daily activities while adhering to DOT and company safety policies. Competitive pay and benefits are provided, with per diem during extended travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 21+ years of age or older.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check for railroad property access.
• Valid CDL (Class A or B) with tanker and air brake endorsements.
• 5 years of total clean driving experience.
• Able to operate manual transmission trucks.
• Willingness to travel 4–6 weeks at a time; hotel accommodations and per diem provided.
• Flexible schedule: Mon-Fri 7am-4pm; some weekend/night work; hours vary with weather/workload.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and complete assigned jobs/contracts.
• Apply herbicides along railroads.
• Mix tanks and calibrate spray equipment.
• Perform daily truck inspections, routine maintenance, and system repairs.
• Maintain accurate daily/weekly records.
• Ensure all work complies with safety guidelines and regulations.
• Communicate with customers and address complaints professionally.
• Identify vegetation types and understand proper application methods, chemicals, and safety requirements.
