Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a motivated CDL Hi-Rail Technician for full-time seasonal work across the United States. You will spray herbicides along railroad tracks, maintain trucks and spray equipment, and travel for extended periods with hotel accommodations and per diem provided.

The role includes safety-focused responsibilities, equipment calibration, and routine maintenance, with opportunities to grow in vegetation management. Training is provided and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 21+ years of age or older required.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check for railroad property access.
• CDL Class A or B with tanker and air brake endorsements required.
• 5 years of total clean driving experience required.
• Willingness to travel 4–6 weeks away from home; hotel + per diem provided.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and complete assigned jobs/contracts.
• Apply herbicides along railroads for weed, grass, and brush control.
• Mix tanks and calibrate spray equipment.
• Perform daily truck inspections, routine maintenance, and system repairs.
• Maintain accurate daily/weekly records.
• Ensure all work complies with safety guidelines and regulations.
• Communicate with customers and address complaints professionally.
• Identify vegetation types and understand proper application methods, chemicals, and safety requirements.

Skills

CDL Class A/B with tanker & air brake

5+ years clean driving experience

Ability to travel 4–6 weeks away from

Manual transmission trucks operation
