Job summary

Maxim Healthcare in Blue Ash, OH is seeking caregivers to assist patients at home per their care plan. You will help with baths, mobility, vital signs, and daily living tasks while documenting patient conditions for the supervising nurse.

Qualifications

• Meets training requirements per state and federal laws.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given.
• Current CPR certification as required by state regulations.
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations.
• Completion of Maxim competency program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient with bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, toileting and feeding per plan of care.
• Record vital signs when ordered and demonstrate competency.
• Support safe transfer and ambulation techniques.
• Perform range of motion and simple procedures as ordered.
• Provide patient laundry and observe home safety practices.
• Communicate clearly with client, family/caregiver and nurse supervisor.
• Observe and document patient condition and report changes.

Hourly Pay: $15 - $17 / Per Hour

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting patient with and per plan of care, the following;
  • Baths, Oral hygiene, Dressing and undressing, Toileting activities, feeding, etc
  • Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
  • Exercise according to the plan of care
  • Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Patient’s laundry
  • Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)
  • Observation and teaching of home safety practices
  • Recognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management procedures
• Must follow patients plan of care and complete all tasks assigned
• Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and office
• Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes, to the assigned nurse supervisor

Requirements

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation
• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
