The Patient Account Representative is responsible for performing internal medical record audits to ensure billing operations meet compliance with State and federal guidelines for accurate claims processing. This position processes electronic and paper claims for Nursing (hourly and visit), Rehab, Durable Medical Equipment, and Infusion services, reconciles patient accounts and works with the accounts receivable; providing the Patient Account manager with financial data; volume data and trend analyses. This position serves as liaison between assigned departments and patient accounts, communicating effectively with patients, payors and other departments regarding collection of outstanding accounts, maintaining proper documentation and edits of work performed; and at all times maintaining a professional demeanor.
