Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Cambridge, MA or Morristown, NJ is seeking an experienced HEOR leader to drive health economics and outcomes research for AYVAKIT (avapritinib) and the Rare pipeline. You will translate value propositions into evidence plans, design economic models, and guide evidence generation across global teams.

The role requires 5+ years in HEOR, a doctoral or medical degree, and a track record with payer evidence and HTA interactions. Hybrid work includes on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a scientific discipline.
• 5 years’ experience in health economics/outcomes research.
• Global product launch experience; knowledge of payer evidence requirements/value demonstration.
• Demonstrated HEOR methods experience and evidence-to-launch support.
• Proficiency in evidence-based medicine, clinical research methodology, economic modeling, and COAs.
• Experience translating Target Value Propositions/access strategies into evidence plans.
• Track record of peer-reviewed publications.
• Knowledge of global HTA processes; HTA submission experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead HEOR for AYVAKIT (avapritinib) in Systemic Mastocytosis and assigned emerging pipeline assets within Global Rare HEVA.
• Develop and execute asset-level HEOR strategies: translate value propositions into evidence hypotheses, requirements, and generation plans.
• Design and execute HEOR research (economic modeling, database/observational research, COA development/validation, literature reviews, evidence synthesis, value dossiers) and plan evidence generation (IEGP).
• Partner with multi-functional global brand/development teams; provide trial design input; align with US HEVA team.
• Build relationships with payers and decision-makers; support HTA and reimbursement interactions; engage KOLs.
• Publish and present results; communicate findings to stakeholders; mentor junior colleagues; ensure SOP/compliance.

Job description

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR) for AYVAKIT (avapritinib) in Systemic Mastocytosis and assigned emerging pipeline assets within Global Rare HEVA.


• Develop and execute asset-level HEOR strategies: translate Target Value Propositions/access strategies into evidence hypotheses, requirements, and generation plans addressing payer/provider/unmet needs.


• Design and execute HEOR research (economic modeling, database/observational research, COA development/validation, systematic literature reviews, evidence synthesis, value dossier development) and operationalize evidence generation plans (e.g., IEGP).


• Partner with multi-functional global brand/development teams on clinical research programs; provide trial design recommendations; provide SME input to commercial/medical/market access/strategy; align with US HEVA team.


• Build relationships with payers and decision-makers; support HTA and reimbursement interactions; engage KOLs and external partners.


• Publish and present results; communicate findings to stakeholders; mentor junior colleagues; maintain compliance with relevant SOPs/laws.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication/presentation; compliance/ethics; entrepreneurial, team-oriented problem solving.
