Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife is seeking a Program Manager for the S.M. Tracy Herbarium in College Station. You will coordinate daily operations, supervise staff, and advance digitization, cataloging, and data management for the herbarium collections.

You will work with faculty and external partners, manage budgets, prepare reports, and support outreach and education activities. A 5+ year background in herbarium operations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of related experience.
• Knowledge of botany, herbarium collections, digitization, and program administration.
• Knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, and other computer applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and supervisory skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, implement established procedures, prepare reports and presentations, and work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day management of collections and digitization activities, including accessioning and records management.
• Supervise program support staff, student assistants, interns, volunteers, and temporary employees.
• Coordinate access for visiting researchers and outreach activities; communicate with internal and external partners.
