Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join the Hepatology team. The NP will provide independent assessment and management of chronic liver disease, including MASLD and cirrhosis, in a fast-paced ambulatory setting, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and researchers.

The role requires strong clinical autonomy, EPIC proficiency, and a track record in hepatology; high-volume clinic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Current California RN license and NP license with furnishing license.
• Board certification in an aligned specialty (AANP/ANCC/NCC/PNCB/AACN).
• BLS/CPR certification with plan to obtain BART within 6 months.
• Five plus years of hepatology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent clinical assessment and management of hepatology patients.
• Manage a high-volume ambulatory hepatology practice with new consultations and follow-ups.
• Coordinate care with hepatologists, APPs, nurses, pharmacists, and transplant teams.
• Conduct telehealth visits and document via Epic EMR; ensure timely follow-up and referrals.
