Job summary

SELAHEC, in conjunction with The Louisiana Office of Public Health is seeking a Hepatitis Surveillance Supervisor to oversee data analysis, data management, and field investigations for the Hepatitis Surveillance unit of the STI/HIV/Hepatitis Program.

The position supports the state's progress toward hepatitis elimination and follows CDC and program security and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related field; five years of relevant experience. A master’s degree with two or more years of experience, or a PhD, may substitute for the five years.
• Superior data management and analytical skills using statistical software such as SAS or SPSS; proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Hepatitis Surveillance Data Managers, Field Investigators, and student workers.
• Perform statistical and epidemiological analyses of hepatitis surveillance data.
• Oversee monthly Medicaid and corrections treatment updates and data used to link people to treatment.
• Develop program databases and write SQL queries and SAS programs for data requests and reports.
• Conduct data linkages and produce technical writing, reports, and presentations.
• Assist with grant narratives, guidelines, and procedures; present at local, state, and national meetings.
