Job summary

The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) – Viral Hepatitis Program in the CEDEP division is seeking an Epidemiologist 2 for a 12+ month contract in Nashville, TN with hybrid in-office days. You will manage SET-NET data, develop analyses, and collaborate with CDC and internal teams.

Responsibilities include data transmission, QA, visualization, and grant-related duties; supervisory duties are part of the role, with ongoing public health surveillance and reporting obligations.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, statistics, or health informatics.
• Master’s degree with five years epidemiology experience.
• Knowledge of viral hepatitis and maternal/child health.
• Experience with SAS programming.
• Data visualization experience (Tableau).
• Supervisory experience.
• Experience with REDCap.
• Experience leading multi-partner projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the data manager for CDC's SET-NET grant.
• Quality assurance for SET-NET data in REDCap.
• Transmit SET-NET data to CDC per protocol.
• Develop data visualizations for partners.
• Act as data liaison between TDH and CDC.
• Supervise Medical Records Abstractor and Data Entry Specialist.
• Maintain access to electronic health records across Tennessee.
• Conduct surveillance on hepatitis C and other threats.
