Job summary

The New School seeks HEOP Mentors to support the Arthur O. Eve HEOP within the Student Affairs office. This on-campus role runs Fall 2026 through Spring 2027, at 9 hours per week to help with events, student communications, and program administration.

Mentors will help create social media content, assist with promotions, and provide guidance to first-year HEOP students. A 3.0+ GPA and ability to lift up to 35 lbs are required; in-person training on Sept 1 is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about access/opportunity programs.
  • Be open‑minded and culturally competent.
  • Meets deadlines promptly and communicates clearly.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Experience with researching, brainstorming, ideating, and creating programming and marketing materials.
  • Must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be available to attend in person training on September 1st.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with event prep including transporting materials and setup.
  • Perform administrative duties related to the HEOP Space.
  • Communicate important information to first-year HEOP students via email.
  • Contribute content on the official @NewSchoolStudentLife Instagram page.
  • Assist with creating visuals for college fairs and events.
  • Provide guidance to HEOP students facing challenges.
  • Assist in surveys and assessment tools for learning outcomes.
