Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute in Connecticut is expanding its oncology team, seeking an Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to manage outpatient cancer care, including triage, pre-treatment visits, and survivorship follow-up in Hartford region sites such as Manchester and Avon.

Eligible candidates must be licensed in CT as PA or APRN, have oncology experience, and ideally 1 year as an APP; the position offers collaboration with Memorial Sloan Kettering, dedicated

Qualifications

  • Eligibility to be licensed in Connecticut as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
  • Eligibility to be certified as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
  • Oncology experience as a PA, NP, or RN is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of APP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Triage and outpatient management of cancer patients including urgent visits and follow-ups.
  • Conduct pre-treatment visits and survivorship follow-up in outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and Memorial Sloan Kettering for advanced practice advancement.
  • Support patient care and mentorship within Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute.

Hartford HealthCare (HHC) Cancer Institute is an institutional member with the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology Oncology (APSHO) as well as APP Clinical Ladder advancement and APP RVU Incentive program.

Through the open collaboration between Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute and Memorial Sloan Kettering, community cancer caregivers are in a better position to provide state of the art, evidence-based cancer care to improve the lives of cancer patients.   • Oncology APP’s will be involved in triage and the spectrum of outpatient management of cancer patients including, urgent visits, chemotherapy pre-treatment visits, follow up appointments, and ongoing survivorship care.
