Job summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Supervisor, Laboratory Operations for the Hematopathology service to provide technical, operational, quality, and people leadership. This role ensures safe, reliable daily operations for hematology testing, bone marrow morphology, flow cytometry, and related workflows.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Medical Technology or equivalent and CLIA qualifications met.
• 5+ years of practical clinical lab experience, including high-complexity testing.
• 3+ years in supervision or team lead roles.
• Certification eligible (ASCP, AAB, AMT) with 6 months' hire window.
• Flow cytometry, hematology, and bone marrow morphology experience preferred.
• Experience with assay validation, regulatory inspections, quality management.
• Experience collaborating with oncology and stem cell transplant programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational oversight for high complexity hematopathology testing.
• Ensure testing is accurate, compliant with regulatory requirements, and within turnaround times.
• Partner with leadership to evaluate, validate, implement, and monitor new assays, methods, instruments, software, and workflows.
• Serve as a technical and operational resource for staff, physicians, and partners.
• Act as liaison to oncology, stem cell transplant, clinical trials, pathology, and clinical stakeholders.
• Maintain readiness for licensing, accreditation, and regulatory inspections; address deficiencies.
• Lead, coach, schedule, and develop personnel while promoting a safe, inclusive environment.
• Support operating and capital budgets, purchasing, staffing, inventory, and records.
• Evaluate LIS and informatics processes; ensure staff training and documentation.
