Job summary

Antech Diagnostics in Southaven, MS, is seeking a Hematology Technician I to perform cytology accessioning, staining and lab testing. You will prepare samples, set up instruments, run tests and read/release results, with shift from 1am to 9:30am Tue–Sat and alternating Sundays.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or science-related degree; experience with lab instruments and attention to detail is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months experience as a Hematology Lab Aide or a science-related degree.
• Science-related degree preferred (2-, 3- or 4-year).
• Laboratory skills and ability to set up/run lab instruments.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Build CBC/UA loads, slide preparation and staining.
• Assist with prepping Avian/Exotic specimens.
• Spin manual hematocrits and prepare blood smears.
• Perform all required tests including Destiny Testing (PT/PTT, Fibrinogen, UA Front End).
• Ensure quality control and instrument maintenance per SOPs.
• Accession and label paperwork, slides, tubes and jars.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and restock supplies.
• Participate in lab efficiency improvements and team support.
