Miami Neuroscience Institute at Baptist Health South Florida is seeking an experienced oncology-nursing professional to plan, implement, and document comprehensive care using nursing processes. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care for immunocompromised patients, including chemotherapy administration and central line monitoring.

The role requires BSN or active BSN enrollment, current Florida RN license, and strong EMR skills.

Qualifikationen

• BSN degree or currently enrolled in BSN program.
• CPHON/CPON/BMTCN certification within 5 years (preferred).
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and computer applications.

Aufgaben

• Plans, implements and documents the plan of care in collaboration with other disciplines to assure safe and efficient care.
• Administers chemotherapy and medications per policy, with six rights of medication administration.
• Monitors immuno-compromised patients including central line care, IV sites and labs.
• Performs interventions such as electrolyte infusions, sepsis monitoring and transfusions with blood products.
• Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team during daily care planning rounds and promotes Family Centered Care.
• Uses electronic systems to enhance patient care and responds to call lights to ensure safety.
• Verifies orders and patient roadmap on admission for accuracy.
• Ensures safe analgesics/narcotics administration and reassessment per Pain Management policy.
• Conducts multi-system assessments (head-to-toe, vitals, dressings, suction, feeding, bathing, repositioning).
• Ensures proper restraint orders and documentation per Sedation Policy.
• Provides safe wound care according to policy.
• Accesses EHR and documents accurately.
• Communicates resources to patients and families and gathers input on care plans.
• Educates families about new diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Maintains an error-free, high-quality care environment and supports patient safety.
• Performs fall prevention and infection control measures, including central line care.
• Delivers hand-offs during shift changes and reassignments.
• Follows PPE guidelines and participates in nursing governance and unit activities.
• Meets unit standards and regulatory requirements (DNV, CMS, DOH, FACT, COG, COC).
• Disposes of chemotherapy products safely per policy.
