Job Description

A Davenport, Iowa client is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Oncology Hematology Physician to join our esteemed team. You will provide specialized medical care to patients diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans, deliver therapies, and support patients and their families. The ideal candidate will have exceptional clinical skills, a deep understanding of oncology and hematology, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care. The position involves outpatient and inpatient consults in Davenport, IA, and Clinton, IL.

Required Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree
• Current Iowa and Illinois medical licenses
• Completed an accredited residency program
• Current DEA certificate
• Board certified or eligible
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with various cancer types and blood disorders, including solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and benign conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including histories, examinations, and review of diagnostic tests.
• Interpret laboratory results, genetic tests, biopsies, and imaging studies to determine treatment options and prognosis.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient condition, stage, and preferences, incorporating evidence-based guidelines and clinical trials.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and monitor their effectiveness and side effects.
• Coordinate radiation therapy, surgical interventions, and interventional procedures within a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide supportive care to manage symptoms and treatment-related complications.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families about diagnoses and treatment options.
• Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and team meetings for complex cases.
• Stay updated on research, advancements, and clinical trials, applying evidence-based practices.
• Document patient encounters accurately in electronic medical records, maintaining confidentiality.
• Contribute to medical education and mentoring as appropriate.
