Job description

Job Opportunity: Medical Oncologist/Hematologist

Join a well-established practice in Clinton, Iowa, where you will be part of a dynamic healthcare team at a state-of-the-art facility. This full-time position offers the chance to work primarily at MercyOne Clinton, with the opportunity to rotate at Genesis Health System in Davenport, IA. With a focus on adult and geriatric patient care, you'll have a supportive infrastructure and a steady stream of internal referrals from an extensive primary care network.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care in the areas of Hematology and Medical Oncology, splitting time 30/70 between disciplines.
• Manage an average of 30 patients a day, with 30-minute slots for new patient visits and 15 minutes for follow-ups.
• Collaborate with a team that includes four RNs, a Medical Assistant, a CNA, and a receptionist.
• Utilize hospitalist services for infusion coverage, as necessary.
• Engage with onsite Radiation Oncology services in partnership with the University of Iowa.
• Contribute to achieving Commission on Cancer (COC) Accreditation through quality care and strategic planning.
• Participate in after-hours calls, which are minimal and conducted by phone.

Qualifications:

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Medical Oncology (within 5 years of residency).
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology (within 5 years of residency).
• Active Iowa medical license (or willing to obtain).
• Clean malpractice history preferred.
• No visa support required (J1 or H1B candidates not accepted).

License and Certification Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology - REQUIRED
• IA medical license - REQUIRED
• Clean malpractice history - PREFERRED
