Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide direct patient care across outpatient and inpatient settings. The NP will possess prescriptive authority and operate as an advanced practice provider within supervising physician scope.

The role includes clinic coverage, rounds, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Qualified candidates hold a Texas NP license, APRN certification, and BLS; 2 years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Texas NP license and board certification as APRN required.
• Active RN license or APRN privilege in Texas preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients and takes medical histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests.
• Prescribes or recommends medical therapies and performs procedures per scope of practice.
• Develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans with collaborating physicians.
• Counsels patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintains patient records detailing treatment plans and outcomes.
• Provides consultation within specialty and manages patients in non-primary settings.
• Performs invasive procedures as delegated by supervising physician.
• May cover additional duties based on department needs.
