Job summary

UNC Health Blue Ridge is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Blue Ridge Cancer Center in rural North Carolina. The role involves managing hematology/oncology patients, administering pretreatment education, and supporting oncologists in symptom management.

Candidates should have an accredited NP/PA graduate program and NC licensure (or eligibility) with 2+ years of hematology/oncology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) program.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., NP/PA) in NC or eligible.
• 2+ years as Hematology/Oncology NP preferred.

Responsibilities

• See a variety of hematology and oncology patients, including benign hematology caseload.
• Pre-treat patients prior to chemotherapy treatments.
• Educate patients about chemotherapy before new or changing treatments.
• Support the medical oncologist in patients with symptoms or concerns.
• Review labs and tests to approve treatments.

Qualifications

Education and Licensure Requirements

• Completion of an accredited graduate –level Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) program.

Professional Experience Requirements

• At least 2+ year as a Hematology/ Oncology NP is required
• Prefer candidates with past experience in Hematology and or oncology setting

Job Duties And Expectations

• See a variety of hematology and oncology patients, including managing a benign hematology caseload
• See pretreat patients prior to chemotherapy treatments
• Complete all chemo education with patients prior to new or changing treatments
• Support the medical oncologist to see any patients that are having symptoms or concerns
• Review patient labs and test results to approve treatments
