Job summary

UNC Health Blue Ridge is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at our Blue Ridge Cancer Center to join a rural community practice. You will see hematology/oncology patients, assist with pretreatment, and educate patients about chemotherapy while supporting the oncologist.

Qualified providers are NP/PA graduates licensed in NC (or eligible) with 2+ years in hematology/oncology. The role emphasizes independent collaboration, strong communication, and precise medical-record

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited graduate-level AP Provider program.
• Licensed or eligible to practice as NP or PA in North Carolina.
• 2+ years hematology/oncology NP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• See hematology/oncology patients including benign caseload management.
• Pre-treat patients prior to chemotherapy treatments.
• Complete chemo education with patients before new or changed treatments.
• Support the medical oncologist for patients with symptoms or concerns.
• Review labs and test results to approve treatments.

Qualifications

Education and Licensure Requirements

• Completion of an accredited graduate –level Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) program.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in the state of North Carolina or eligible.

Professional Experience Requirements

• At least 2+ year as a Hematology/ Oncology NP is required
• Prefer candidates with past experience in Hematology and or oncology setting

Job Duties And Expectations

• See a variety of hematology and oncology patients, including managing a benign hematology caseload
• See pretreat patients prior to chemotherapy treatments
• Complete all chemo education with patients prior to new or changing treatments
• Support the medical oncologist to see any patients that are having symptoms or concerns
• Review patient labs and test results to approve treatments
