Job summary

UNC Health Blue Ridge invites a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Blue Ridge Cancer Center in a rural North Carolina setting. You will work within a broad UNC Health Network, supporting medical oncologists and treating hematology patients with a focus on education and compassionate care.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in hematology/oncology, an APNP/PA graduate program, and NC licensure or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) in NC or eligible.
• Minimum 2+ years of hematology/oncology NP experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently and with care teams.

Responsibilities

• See hematology/oncology patients, including benign hematology cases.
• Pre-treat patients prior to chemotherapy treatments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Licensure Requirements

• Completion of an accredited graduate –level Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) program.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in the state of North Carolina or eligible.

Professional Experience Requirements:

• At least 2+ year as a Hematology/ Oncology NP is required
• Prefer candidates with past experience in Hematology and or oncology setting

Job duties and expectations:

• See a variety of hematology and oncology patients, including managing a benign hematology caseload
• See pretreat patients prior to chemotherapy treatments
• Complete all chemo education with patients prior to new or changing treatments
• Support the medical oncologist to see any patients that are having symptoms or concerns
• Review patient labs and test results to approve treatments
