Job summary

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field and ASCP certification or eligibility, with additional ASCP certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, MLS, or allied health field.
• ASCP MLS/MT certification or eligibility required.
• ASCP categorical BB/C/H/M certification or eligibility preferred.
• If hired after 19 January 2025, must obtain ASCP certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of pre-analytic workflow and ensures correct order entry.
• Verifies orders and patient/non-patient information per protocol.
• Collects, labels, and processes specimens; prioritizes based on urgency.
• Performs analytical testing following SOPs and maintains instrument QC.
• Performs post-analytic duties including release of results and reporting.
• Ensures QC, preventive maintenance, and reagent inventory are managed.
• Participates in training and supports continued quality operations.
• Ensures patient confidentiality and compliance with safety procedures.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field

ASCP MLS/MT certification or eligible

ASCP Categorical BB/C/H/M certification or eligible

ASCP certification within 1 year if hired after 01/19/2025
