Job summary

Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Laboratory Technologist/Technician focused on hematology to join our front-line team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in MLT or Bachelors in MLS/CLS/MT or related field.
• Experience performing moderate/high complexity hematology testing.
• Knowledge of hematology principles, instrumentation, QC, and smear review.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate lab equipment including analyzers, microscopes and LIS.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity hematology testing (CBCs, differential).
• Review, analyze, and report patient results with prompt pathologist follow-up when needed.
• Perform peripheral blood smear reviews and microscopic evaluations.
• Troubleshoot specimen, instrument, QC, and testing issues with corrective actions.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate and QC automated hematology analyzers and related equipment.
• Work in a fast-paced lab while complying with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues, pathologists, and clinicians to ensure timely results.
