Job summary

LabCorp in Tampa, FL is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee daily hematology operations, staff, and quality metrics in a high-volume clinical lab. You will ensure regulatory compliance, drive performance, and partner with leadership to deliver timely diagnostic results for clients.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant science, 5+ years of lab testing experience, and proven supervisory capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or clinical laboratory field.
• Minimum 5 years of laboratory testing experience in a clinical setting.
• Hematology licensure valid for Florida and supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily Hematology operations, both technical and non-technical.
• Staffing management and production schedule oversight.
• Supervise, train, and mentor department staff and supervisors.
• Ensure service levels meet client needs and metrics (TAT).
• Ensure compliance with CAP/CLIA/state/ISO regulations and safety.
• Develop and implement lab procedures; install equipment and methods.
• Hire, manage performance, and develop staff; communicate with leadership.
• Lead departmental meetings and ensure effective communication.
• Investigate deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain technical knowledge for lab testing.
