Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator Hematology to support complex drug trials in a cancer center environment in Detroit, MI. This role coordinates patient visits, assists with consent, and collaborates with research nurses to ensure protocol compliance and accurate documentation.

The position offers structured onboarding, a hybrid onsite/remote schedule after initial onboarding, and opportunities to develop expertise in hematology oncology research within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of patient-facing clinical research experience.
• Experience with drug clinical trials with some complexity.
• Experience in patient recruitment and screening of potential participants.
• Proficiency in obtaining informed consent from participants.
• Ability to perform vital signs and basic clinical assessments (EKG).
• Familiarity with chart review and study documentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute study visits for hematology trials.
• Guide patients through visit schedules, procedures, and study expectations.
• Collaborate with research nurses to support protocol-specific procedures.
• Participate in patient recruitment through referrals, tumor boards, and consults.
• Review charts to assess eligibility and ensure complete documentation.
• Obtain informed consent and ensure patient understanding of risks/benefits.
• Manage a patient load of approximately 10 participants and maintain follow-up.
