Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Hematology inpatient consult service. The APP will round daily with the service, manage new and follow-up patients, and collaborate with physicians and fellows to improve communication, safety, and discharge planning.

• NP or PA program completion; NP requires Master's degree; PA requires Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• NC RN license for NP or NC PA licensure required; NP national certification; PA certification by NCCPA.

Responsabilidades

• Daily rounding with Hematology Consult Service and coordination with Hematology Attending and Fellow.
• Take patient histories, perform physical examinations, and document findings; write progress notes and care plans.
• Order and schedule labs and procedures for hematologic disorders in inpatient setting; explain procedures to patients.
• Perform bone marrow aspirates and biopsies as part of diagnostic workup.
• Coordinate discharge planning and outpatient follow-up with appropriate providers.
• Share pager coverage for medication approvals and lab result follow-ups.
