Hematology is searching for an APP to assist with the hospitalized hematology consult patient service. The APP will round daily on the hematology consult service team which will improve communication with consulting services and patients. The utilization of an APP as part of the consult team within the Division of Hematology would increase the accessibility of care in the hospitalized setting. The current schedule of physicians and fellows in Hematology make daily visits with all consult patients extremely challenging. Incorporating an APP as part of the consult team who understands the nuances of hematology would increase patient and consulting team satisfaction. The APP would be responsible for seeing several new patients each day as well as having a group of follow-up patients seen each day. Efficiency and coordination of patient discharges would improve which in turn would also improve patient satisfaction and safety. Timely and appropriate management of treatment related side effects would also be facilitated by this individual.
