Job summary

Wastequip is hiring a Helper/Cleaner/Finisher in Beeville, TX. The role cleans, grinds, and sands surfaces of components prior to painting, with pay of $14.51 per hour plus a $2 shift differential. Second shift runs Monday-Thursday 4:00 PM–1:30 AM, Friday 2:30 PM–11:00 PM.

Responsibilities include inspecting surfaces, selecting abrasive tools, grinding to remove defects, and polishing to a smooth finish. You’ll assist welders, set up weld tables, and help move materials using hoists or forklifts.

• Assists welders with non-welding prep and material setup

• Moves heavy workpieces during operations
• Performs sub-assembly work as needed
• Uses bracing and measurement tools
• Prepares and cleans workpieces for finishing
• Maintains welding equipment and tools

Job Description: Wastequip is recruiting for a Helper/Cleaner/Finisher in our Beeville, TX location, who cleans, grinds, and sands surfaces of component and or finished raw product prior to painting. Pay rate: $14.51 + $2 shift differential 2nd shift: Monday to Thursday: 4:00PM to 1:30AM. Friday: 2:30PM to 11:00PM.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Examines and feels surface of workpiece for defects

Selects abrasive wheel, or disk according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives, and condition of metal, and attaches to grinder

Starts grinder and moves it over surface of workpiece to remove scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material, and burs

Polishes ground areas with finer abrasive to produce smooth, unmarred surface

Replaces worn abrasive disks wheels

Assist the welders with non-welding functions in preparation for welding.

Assist welders in loading or moving heavy work pieces during work operations

Performs sub assembly work as needed

Clean workpieces as necessary with grinder or scraper
