Job summary

Jobtailor in Cambridge, MA is seeking an entry-level Help Desk Technician to install, configure, test, and support computer hardware and software. You will maintain asset inventory and assist end users with IT issues, documenting tickets and maintaining data across core business apps.

The role requires 2–3 years in the field, strong customer service, and ability to work in a team. Windows 10, Office 365, AD/Exchange/SharePoint/OneDrive experience preferred.

Job description

• Install, configure, test, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software


• Accurately maintain asset inventory


• Provide guidance and support to end users experiencing IT-related issues

• Perform other related duties as required


• Provide entry-level help desk support to Vinfen end users and critical internal IT functions

Requirements

• Two to three years’ experience in the field or related areas


• High school diploma or equivalent required


• Associate's degree in computer science or related field strongly preferred


• Excellent customer service skills


• Aptitude to informally train end users with varying levels of technical knowledge


• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks


• Experience working effectively in a team environment


• Verbal and written English skills necessary


• Understanding of installing and maintaining Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365


• Working knowledge of Active Directory, MS Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive


• Fluency with anti-virus and anti-malware tools such as Kaspersky and Malwarebytes


• Familiarity with TCP/IP, LAN, wireless, and other network configurations


• Self-motivated, punctual, and organized


• Critical documentation skills


• Valid US driver's license must be presented at employment if driving; at least 21 years old and valid for at least six months, with required screening and insurance if using a personal vehicle


• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques


• Ability to operate computers and office equipment


• Ability to stand, file, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required


• Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives


• Required close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, plus ability to adjust focus


• A+ and/or Net+ certification preferred


• Microsoft certifications desirable
