Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) in Sterling, Virginia is seeking a dependable Help Desk Technician to join our growing IT team. You will be the first point of contact for employees, diagnosing issues with computers, software, mobile devices, and network connectivity.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in a help desk role, strong Windows and Microsoft 365 knowledge, and excellent communication skills to explain technical information to non-technical users.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in a help desk, IT support, or similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with hardware, mobile devices, and basic networking.

Responsibilities

• Respond to help desk tickets, calls, and emails in a timely, professional manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, OS, and mobile device issues.
• Set up and maintain computers, printers, and other company devices.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications and other business software.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding, accounts, and access permissions.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when needed.
• Document issues, solutions, and IT procedures for knowledge sharing.
• Provide courteous technical assistance to employees at all levels.
