Contract Duration: 6 months

Employment Type: Contract, W2

Pay Rate: $20–$27 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Summary

The ABK Group is seeking a proactive Help Desk Technician for a 6-month contract in a Microsoft-centric environment. You’ll serve as the first point of contact for IT support, troubleshoot hardware/software/network issues, and maintain a stable desktop ecosystem for end users in our Bloomington office.

Key Responsibilities

User Support & Troubleshooting

  • Handle incoming tickets via ticketing system, phone, and email
  • Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, and mobile device issues
  • Provide clear, patient guidance to non-technical users
  • Manage Active Directory user and computer accounts (create, modify, disable)
  • Configure and support Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Assist with Windows 10/11 imaging, deployment, and patch management

Hardware & Software Maintenance

  • Install, configure, and repair PCs, peripherals, and A/V equipment
  • Deploy software updates, antivirus definitions, and system patches
  • Track inventory of hardware assets, software licenses, and consumables
  • Document resolutions, workarounds, and FAQs in the knowledge base
  • Escalate complex or recurring issues to Level 2/3 engineers or vendors
  • Support onboarding/offboarding processes and equipment provisioning

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of help desk or desktop support experience
  • Strong skills in Windows 10/11 administration and Microsoft 365 suite
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and basic networking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tickets and meet SLA targets

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft MCSA certification
  • Familiarity with VPNs, firewalls, and remote‐access tools (e.g., RDP)
  • Experience using ServiceNow, Jira, or similar ITSM platforms
  • Basic PowerShell scripting for routine task automation
  • Customer-service oriented mindset with collaborative problem-solving
