Job summary

The Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking a Helicopter Pilot in Redding, California to provide medical air transportation services. Qualifications

• Must have a current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate.
• Helicopter instrument rating is required.
• Possess a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
• 2,000 total flight hours including helicopter hours.
• 1,000 helicopter PIC hours and 1,000 turbine hours are mandatory.
• Must meet the weight limit of 230 pounds with flight gear.

Responsibilities

• Transport customers safely with a medical team.
• Ensure aircraft readiness for flights and maintain cleanliness.
• Document and maintain regulatory paperwork.
• Communicate with dispatch, flight crews, and partners.
• Provide shift change information as per protocols.
• Maintain certifications and ongoing training.

• Starting salaries from $106,511- $117,162 including 20% Geo Modifier
• 15K Sign-On Bonus, subject to eligibility
• Retention bonus plan ($40,000 after 42 months, plus additional retention bonuses upon completion of program milestones)

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of medical experts to safely transport customers to and from locations and facilities
• Ensure aircraft readiness for flight dispatches as described in the appropriate manuals, including all FAR and Company requirements, and maintain aircraft cleanliness
• Maintain accurate Company and regulatory documentation and record keeping
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners
• Provide shift change information to successive pilot and team following protocol for recording Company change board details
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing training

Minimum Requirements

• Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate
• Helicopter instrument rating
• Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
• 2,000 Total Flight Hours
• 2,000 helicopter flight hours
• 1,000 helicopter PIC hours
• 1,000 turbine hours
• Minimum 200 helicopter night hours (aided and/or unaided)
• 230 pound weight limit with flight gear

Aircraft Experience

• Previous Airbus AS350/ H125 or similar aircraft experience preferred, but not required.
