Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking a Helicopter Pilot to provide medical air transportation for Med-Trans customers. Safety is a key pillar of our services, and you will join a team of medical experts to transport patients to and from locations and facilities.

You must hold a rotorcraft FAA commercial certificate with instrument rating and a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate, along with substantial flight hours, including turbine and night time, to qualify.

Qualifications

• Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate.
• Helicopter instrument rating required.
• Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
• 2,000 Total Flight Hours.
• 1,500 Helicopter Hours.
• 1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours.
• 1,000 Turbine Helicopter Hours.
• 200 Helicopter Night Flight Hours.
• 200 Helicopter Instrument Hours.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of medical experts to safely transport customers.
• Ensure aircraft readiness for flight dispatches per manual and FAR/Med-Trans requirements.
• Maintain accurate Med-Trans and regulatory documentation and record keeping.
• Communicate and collaborate with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners.
• Provide shift change info following protocol for recording Med-Trans changes.
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing training.

• Working with a team of medical experts to safely transport customers to and from locations and facilities.
• Ensure aircraft readiness for flight dispatches as described in the manual, including all FAR and Med-Trans requirements, and aircraft cleanliness duties.
• Maintain accurate Med-Trans and regulatory documentation and record keeping.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners.
• Provide shift change info to successive pilot and team following protocol for recording Med-Trans change board details.
• Accountable to maintain required certifications and ongoing training.

Preferred Qualifications

• EC135 Aircraft Experience
