Job summary

Nevada Division of Forestry in Minden, NV is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist to inspect, repair and overhaul agency helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft to FAA standards.

You will maintain and update technical data and comply with federal regulations, often working independently with minimal training. The role may require travel for fire assignments across the state, and offers a permanent on-site position with overtime during fire season.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years journey-level experience as an FAA Aircraft Mechanic, including 3 years in helicopters.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant Rating required at time of application; IA within 1 year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and overhaul agency helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft to FAA standards.
• Maintain and update technical data and regulatory compliance documents.
• Possibly travel across Nevada for fire assignments and division missions.
• Ensure safety of crew, passengers and equipment during flight operations.
