Conservation Legacy seeks Helene Recovery Trail Crew Member – AmeriCorps to support Hurricane Helene recovery in Grandfather Ranger District. You’ll work on saw work, reopen and repair trails, and construct rock and timber structures under 9 on/5 off hitch cycles. Crews live outdoors, with emphasis on teamwork and safety in challenging terrain.

Qualifications

• US citizen or eligible for AmeriCorps service.
• At least 17 years old and able to meet program requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent; willing to obtain background check.
• WFA/CPR certification valid for season duration.
• Commitment to program schedule (40–50 hours/week) and outdoor work.
• Must be able to speak, understand, and write English.

Responsibilities

• Support hurricane disaster recovery efforts in Pisgah NF, including trail work and construction.
• Operate in rugged terrain with 10-hour shifts and 9 on/5 off hitch schedule.
• Work collaboratively as a crew with leadership and project partners.

Skills
