Qualifications

  • Industry experience as a Heavy Vehicle / Mobile Plant Mechanic.
  • Experience in diagnosis and repair of hydraulics / low voltage electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and major repairs on road transport vehicles and plant equipment.
  • Conduct planned and unplanned work, including inspection, fault diagnosis.

As a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic at our South Metro depot, you will focus on the repair, servicing, and maintenance of Western Power's heavy vehicle road transport and plant machinery.

This role is based at our new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway, spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create a work-life balance within an inclusive and diverse workplace.

Your Role in Action
  • Perform routine and major repairs on road transport vehicles and plant equipment
  • Ensure all machinery operates efficiently and complies with industry standards
  • Conduct planned and unplanned work, including inspection, fault diagnosis, and rectifying problems related to servicing and maintenance of Western Power’s heavy vehicles
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Trade qualification in Heavy Duty Mechanical applications – Heavy automotive / Heavy Vehicle Road Transport
  • Industry experience as a Heavy Vehicle / Mobile Plant Mechanic
  • Experience in diagnosis and repair of hydraulics / low voltage electrical systems
  • Strong teamwork skills – ability to work as part of a high-performing team
  • Valid WA ‘C’ class licence (essential)
  • High Risk licence class EWP (Desirable)
  • High Risk licence class Dogging (Desirable)
  • High Risk licence class Forklift (Desirable)
  • Motor Vehicle Repairer’s Certificate classes HVW and LVW (willing to obtain within the first 6 months)
